Listed below are some of the many tools that are available online that are free or very low cost for small businesses. I have used many of them and find most easy to use.
Trello, Asana, or Teamwork – Project management apps that allow teams to work together and keep communication flowing, Individual tasks can be assigned to individual team members.
WhatsApp or Slack – Communication apps much like Instant Messenger, but allows teams to communicate easily. Projects and teams can be separated into different conversations.
Zoom or Skype – Online video conferencing software, used when a face-to-face meeting is necessary but attendees are in different locations. These apps can also be used for webinars.
Mailchimp, ConvertKit or Aweber – Email service providers that can send emails to many on an email list either automatically or individually. They work well with sales funnels.
Canva – Free online graphic design software that is very user friendly and includes a variety of templates to choose from.
HelloSign – Secure online signature app used to execute contracts and other legal documents that need original signatures.
Bluehost or GoDaddy – Website hosting and domain registration services. Both have excellent customer service and online tutorials to answer any questions you might have.
WordPress or Squarespace – User friendly, clean and simple to complex website design templates. WordPress was originally created for blogging, but has evolved to include full site designs, including e-commerce capabilities.
Wave App – Free online bookkeeping program that allows access to your finances from anywhere. Services also include invoicing and payroll.
Everlance or MileIQ – Mileage tracking apps to document all the miles driven for business purposes.
Clockify – free, easy to use time tracking app that can create detailed reports to send to clients with you invoice.
Google Drive or Onedrive – Online file management and sharing programs that allows documents to be shared for read-only or editing access.
LastPass – Free and secure password tracker. No more keeping lists of passwords for every website you have login information for!
Survey Monkey or Typeforms – Survey and questionnaire programs that are user friends and easy to set up. Both have free and paid versions with expanded capabilities.
Hootsuite or Tailwind – Schedule and manage social media posts. Set them up and forget them until the next set of posts are due.
Calendly – Connects your online calendar (Google, Outlook, etc.) so clients can directly schedule appointments for meetings or discovery calls without having to go back and forth through email to find the best dates.
Grammarly – Have a hard time with spelling or grammar? This free app helps catch errors in any correspondence.
