I grew up watching Wonder Woman.\u00a0 She was one of the few female heroes at the time.\u00a0 Recently, I watched the 2017 version of the movie starring Gal Gadot, and while the movie didn’t have any invisible planes, it did have some nuggets of wisdom that I am finally ready to hear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Stick to your convictions.<\/strong>\u00a0 She didn’t allow anyone to deter her from her belief that Aries was the one causing the war and it was up to her to stop him.\u00a0 Sticking to your convictions and following your intuition is important.\u00a0 As Rachel Hollis says, “Your dreams were put in your heart for a reason.”<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Stop and enjoy the little things.<\/strong>\u00a0 As the lead heroes were racing to catch a train, they passed by an ice cream cart.\u00a0 She stopped and bought a cone, taking a moment to enjoy the flavor of the ice cream and telling the salesman he “should be proud” of how good the ice cream was.\u00a0 This scene reminded me that everyone should take a moment and enjoy the little pleasures in life.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Never choose looking good over functionality.\u00a0<\/strong> Being in civilization and populated London, Diana (Wonder Woman) tried on a lot of clothes that were stylish and pretty for that era, but were not functional.\u00a0 She did not stop until she found something that fit her but was also loose enough to allow her freedom of movement.\u00a0 There is no reason to wear tight clothing that isn’t comfortable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Care for others.\u00a0<\/strong> When Diana heard that people were being killed and injured in the war, she became distraught and made the decision to do something about it, with or without help from others.\u00a0 Her care and compassion for other people fueled her conviction that Aries was behind the horribleness of the war.\u00a0 Helping others should be our number one goal with anything we do.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Stick to your values.<\/strong>\u00a0 Don’t allow others to tell you what to do and what not to do.\u00a0 Maintain your values and don’t be afraid to walk away or go out on your own, even if it’s scary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Be curious.<\/strong>\u00a0 Ask a lot of questions. Don’t worry about what others think of you.\u00a0 If you don’t know something, don’t be afraid to ask.\u00a0 The more curious you are, the more you will learn, as long as you are present and really listen to the answers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Follow through with your promises.<\/strong>\u00a0 Diana promised her mother that she would take out Aries and stop the war, and she followed through with that promise.\u00a0 Because she followed through and didn’t quit, the war ended and many people were saved.\u00a0 Following through with your promises makes you more trustworthy and dependable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. Live in the moment.<\/strong>\u00a0 Enjoy the moments of happiness: dance the dance, have the drink you enjoy, eat the ice cream.\u00a0 Celebrate all of your wins, big ones and little ones.\u00a0 There’s no promise of winning tomorrow so celebrate today.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. Be persistent and don’t take No for an answer.\u00a0 <\/strong>As a girl, Diana never gave up on her desire to be trained as a warrior.\u00a0 She even met her aunt in secret to learn all she could, even though her mother forbade it.\u00a0 She ended up being the best Amazon warrior on the island.\u00a0Persistence is required to have a successful business.\u00a0 There are always going to be ups and downs. Being persistent will help get you through the hard times.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    As I am working to build an online service business that I love and is helpful for other businesses, these lessons have come up over and over again in the many trainings I’ve taken.  However, they have not all been presented in the way this movie presented them, and I am grateful I was finally ready to listen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
